WELDING TECHNIQUES

MIG Welding, also known as Metal Inert Gas welding, employs an external gas shield, such as Argon, Helium, Carbon Dioxide, or a gas mixture, to protect the welding zone. This process utilises a copper-coated steel wire as both electrode and filler material. Known for its cleanliness and controllability, MIG welding is ideal for general and light steel production.

On the other hand, TIG Welding, or Tungsten Inert Gas welding, utilises a non-melting tungsten electrode. The filler material is manually added if required, although often, TIG welding involves just the fusion of two parts with no additional filler. Pure Argon gas is fed through the torch over the tungsten to provide the welding flux. This method is preferred for welding thin mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
